Hello. I've been recently getting into wheat pasting and I made my own batch a while ago and I was just wondering is it supposed to smell like shit?

Not always? It smells awful after a few days in my opinion, it kind of rots. There are things you can do to make it last longer but since it’s so cheap to make, I usually toss whatever’s left over after a project. It never smells really terrible when I cook it or have it for a couple days, but it will get rancid after about a week.
